John's interest in colour and painting goes back many years, including, for a time, creating airbrush art on custom vehicles. By complete contrast, in his photography, he draws inspiration from Ansel Adams, the master of black and white images.
Rosemary & John have run their own commercial photography business in the City of London since 1997, photographing the people, premises and events of international banks, prominent law firms, business consultants and a host of others in the UK and abroad.
From that time they've produced art prints from some of their photographs.
However, the most dramatic impact on their work was when they switched to digital photography for their clients. It gives them limitless scope for expressing their artistic ideas and enables them to experiment with many more techniques than previously possible.
Rosemary and John's artworks range from photo-realistic to abstract, in colour and black and white. They produce them as limited editions and open editions. Their work is for sale and hire. It hangs throughout the UK and abroad, in places as far apart as the USA and India.
They exhibit their work mainly in London. Their first solo show was in 2000. A solo show in 2001 was generously sponsored by Hewlett Packard. In 2004 they held a joint show with Galleria Charlick in a new City of London space. This event also received sponsorship from Hewlett Packard. Rosemary and John use HP technology for all their printing.
As well as the 1970's they draw inspiration from the work of contemporary sculptor/artist Elio Garis and are influenced by John Constable, Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque and Salvador Dali.
Rosemary and John undertake client commissions producing exclusive works for their specific needs. Contact them via e-mail or telephone, as shown below.
